Wondering how Jack is doing now? We have great news to share!
After school got out for the summer, Jack was offered a full-time position at the landscaping company he’d been working for! He was also accepted into the Rapid Re-Housing program ran by Lowcountry Continuum of Care. Jack is excited to embrace these big changes, as he enters into adulthood, and has plans to own his own landscaping company in the future. He says, “For now, I have lots to learn!”. Jack is continuing to work on his healing and enjoys listening to music and playing video games in his free time.
*Rapid Re-Housing programs help families and individuals living on the streets or in emergency shelters solve the practical and immediate challenges to obtaining permanent housing while reducing the amount of time they experience homelessness, avoiding a near-term return to homelessness, and linking to community resources that enable them to achieve housing stability in the long-term. We’re delighted that the Federal Cares Act has incentivized charitable giving and will allow taxpayers above-the-line deductions for contributions up to $300 made directly to charities. For those who itemize deductions, the law lifts the cap on annual contributions from 60% of adjusted gross income to 100%. I hope you can take advantage of this unique situation. We will gratefully provide a tax letter for your records.
