Welcoming Dan Daniel to the team!

NOTE: As of Feb. 29, 2024, Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC) has rebranded to Landmarks for Families. Our nonprofit, community programs and residential services remain committed to cultivating thriving youth and families in this new chapter.

Carolina Youth Development Center (CYDC) is excited to welcome Dan Daniel to the development team as Vice President of Development. Dan comes to CYDC from Charleston Parks Conservancy where he served as director of development and communications.

Dan relocated to Charleston in 2020 from Raleigh, N.C., where he was the chief development officer and interim president & CEO of the Tammy Lynn Center (TLC). TLC provides early childhood intervention, education, respite, therapy services and community-based residential services to adults and children with varying intellectual, developmental, and behavioral abilities.

Prior to his pivot to the nonprofit world, Dan spent 30 years in corporate sales, marketing and management, and spent the last 14 years in wealth management with Northwestern Mutual. He has served on several nonprofit boards, including PlaySpace (now known as Marbles Kids Museum), North Hills Club, White Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Tammy Lynn Center. Dan is a member of the Rotary Club of Charleston – Breakfast.

In his role as VP of Development, Dan will lead the CYDC’s fundraising and community development efforts including hosting the organization’s annual golf tournament, Give Me Shelter Color 5K and annual gala.

Dan is married to Reverend Tracey W. Daniel, a Presbyterian pastor, and they have five adult children together.  In their free time, they enjoy reading, walking and riding bikes – especially on the beach.
