Outreach Coordinator

CYDC is a 501(c)(3) organization that serves families seeking support, families in crisis, and children experiencing homelessness or who are victims of physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and abandonment. We strive to deliver family education, preservation, residential and reunification services that teach, heal, strengthen, and empower more than 900 children and families annually.

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: The primary responsibility of the Outreach Coordinator is to provide outreach services to runaway and homeless youth and to coordinate services for youth participating in CYDC’s emergency shelter programs. The Outreach Coordinator will provide services to include: street outreach, attendance at outreach events, coordination of referrals, collaboration on coordinated entry with partner staff, diversion services, intake documentation, resource navigation, coordination of services and program exit documentation and referrals. The position operates under the supervision of the Residential Director.

Scope: Outreach Coordinator services include but are not limited to outreach, referrals, documentation, direct service coordination and training. Services are based on youth and residential staff needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Outreach Activities – 40%
  • Coordination with Emergency Shelter Services – 40%
  • Training & Collaboration – 10%
  • Teamwork, Quality Improvement, and Cultural Sensitivity – 10%

Type of Knowledge Required and or Skills Required: Must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to work with a diverse population. Must have the skills to actively engage other professionals as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to work with youth who may exhibit behavioral and/or mental health issues.

Education and Specific Training: Minimum qualifications include: (1) Master’s in a field related to social work and one year of experience in social work or experience working with the population being served; or (2) Bachelor’s degree in a field related to social work and two years of experience in social work or experience working with the population being served.

Experience: Two years of social work experience working with the population being served.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $35,000.00 per year
