OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: The primary responsibility of the Lead Residential Care Manager is to oversee the department’s Care Managers, provide mental health, substance abuse, crisis intervention and psychological services such as testing, evaluations, as well as individual, group and family counseling services for youth in foster care residing in CYDC’s Group Homes.
The Lead Residential Care Manager will work with the Clinical Team to help evaluate referrals for admission into the program, serve as the primary Treatment Team Coordinator and liaison to coordinate and monitor clinical and psychiatric services. In addition, the Lead Residential Care Manager will research and recommend evidence based or trauma informed treatment and programming, lead treatment planning/care planning and utilize CYDC’s system of care to develop individual care plans that foster the positive growth of residents in conjunction with the Vice President of Residential Services, the Clinical and Residential Teams. In addition, the Lead Care Manager will support the therapists in completing all diagnostic and non-diagnostic assessments, create and monitor progress toward individual care plans, deliver interventions, facilitate therapeutic programming and manage data. The position will supervise and assign cases to CYDC’s team of Care Managers, oversee skill-building and support group facilitators and provide guidance to the Residential Director to ensure effective use of the Teaching Family Model. The Lead Residential Care Manager operates under the supervision of the Vice President of Residential Services.

Education and Specific Training:
Minimum qualifications include: (1) Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or a related to social work preferred; Bachelor’s degree required plus two years of experience working with the population being served; or (2) Hold an active license in a field related to professional counseling or psychology plus two years of case management experience in social work, counseling, psychology, education or a related field. If applicant is licensed in another state, applicant must be pursuing or willing to pursue licensure in South Carolina.
Experience: Two years of social work experience working with the population being served.
